Mireya Jurado

Mireya was a Computer Science PhD candidate under Dr. Geoffrey Smith and Dr. Mark Finlayson, a CAESCIR Co-PI. Her research focus is quantifying information leakage. She has published in the Cloud Computing Security Workshop and she was a FIU School of Computing and Information Sciences Director’s Fellow from 2016-2019. Mireya was an intern at MIT Lincoln Laboratory where she helped to advance state-of-the-art cryptography and designed components of a new security architecture. Before joining FIU, Mireya graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Anthropology. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science in the Summer of 2022 and was selected as a Fellow in the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) Program, a two-year, full-time, paid fellowship that provides a pathway for federal employment. Under this fellowship, she accepted a position as a Program Analyst with Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE), where she will be evaluating cyber-security programs for the Department of Defense.
